Small Steps, Big Changes

January brings the new year and always lots of activity for Piedmont Environmental Alliance. We are working full out preparing for the Piedmont Earth Day Fair, Saturday, April 27. The story of the Fair is really remarkable.  Started a mere 7 years ago by a small group of friends committed to taking planet- friendly actions, the Fair has grown to be the premier Earth Day celebration of the Triad.  Last year, over 7,000 people braved chilly and windy weather to learn how to take individual actions to help preserve our planet. I am honored to be a part of it all.

As we plan for the 2013 Fair, I am amazed at the number of community organizations that want to be a part of this Fair because they believe we can and must make a difference. Then there are the volunteers, over 150 of them, some who willingly give their time to work on the Fair early morning and late at night, squeezing out time during work breaks, on the weekends or whenever they can find it to ensure that the 2013 Fair will be the best one yet. It’s just amazing.

I invite you to consider becoming a Fair Sponsor; our sponsors’ support keeps the Fair free to attend and free to park. We have sponsorships at many levels, including for individuals. Click here for sponsor information.

Please like us on Facebook and join the conversation!  You’ll find daily posts about local, regional and national environmental news as well as posts about events and tips on how to live a greener, more planet-friendly life.

If we each take just a few small steps, we CAN make big changes happen in the Piedmont.
Best Regards,
Chris
