Environmental Action Coalition

Working together to advocate for change

Our coalition is developing shared vision, strategy, and messaging to advocate for environmental policies and actions in North Carolina's Piedmont region. Join us for monthly meetings and a shared email list to communicate together as we build power for a more just, resilient, and sustainable community.

This coalition is open to individuals and groups across sectors. 

The coalition meets every third Tuesday of the month at 12pm, locations vary.

Sustainability Roundtable

Connecting Environmental Leaders

PEA's Sustainability Roundtable brings together leaders from across sectors to build the relationships and partnerships needed for local action on climate and environmental justice.
 
This biannual event began in October 2019 and re-launched in May 2022 to:

  • Build relationships and connections among individuals and groups working on environmental sustainability in Forsyth County and surrounding areas; 
  • Reach a better understanding of the range and depth of environmental programs and projects in Forsyth County and beyond; 
  • Identify new and expanded opportunities for partnership and collaboration in local environmental work; 
  • Assess what groups need to connect/collaborate and accomplish their goals.

Green Career Expo 2024

The Green Career Expo is a one of a kind event in our region of North Carolina.

Held annually each fall in Winston-Salem, it's an opportunity to connect with green employers and organizations, chat 1:1 with sustainability leaders from across The Triad, and learn more about the green economy we are building together.

Environmental Debate Tournament

Developing tomorrow's leaders

PEA’s Environmental Debate Program develops young environmental leaders with the skills, knowledge, and passion to become change-makers in the community. Each year, students debate a topic that addresses a key and current environmental issue, including solutions to the ongoing climate crisis.

PEA's longest running event and North Carolina's biggest Earth Day celebration, the Piedmont Earth Day Fair is a staple of our community calendar!

Green Home Tour

Making your home greener

The Green Home Tour is a self-guided tour of Winston-Salem homes and gardens with sustainable features. Ticket holders will get the chance to tour homes, meet and chat with the homeowners, and get connected with the resources they need to green their own homes.
