What is Farm City Week?
National Farm City Week is designated the week before Thanksgiving, a perfect time of year to stop and think about where your food comes from. North Carolina farmers work year-round to produce an abundance of food. Farm-City celebrations highlight the importance of agriculture to our economies, quality of life, and foodways, specifically recognizing the vital partnerships between rural and urban communities who prepare, transport, market, and retail our food. Neither the farm nor the city can exist in isolation. Our interdependence creates jobs, markets and relationships that build our economy and support our collective security.
How Can I Participate?
N.C. Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County Center celebrates Farm City Week annually to shine a light on the farms and agribusinesses that bring food to our tables.
