Join a Pilot Mountain State Park ranger for a short walk of 0.5 mile along the Kids in Parks Track Trail, to learn about the role fire plays at Pilot Mountain State Park.
We will discuss the ecology of fire, our past wildfire, and see some of the first adapted plants that live on Pilot Mountain.
Meet at the trailhead for the Sassafras/Kids Track Trail at the upper summit area.
