Join Piedmont Land Conservancy and Miracle Grounds Farm on the Crossnore Communities for Children Campus for a group hike on the Stuart & Emma Thomas Memorial Trail in Winston-Salem. As you journey, learn about and partake in forest bathing, a physiological and psychological exercise called shinrin-yoku also known as “forest bathing” or “taking in the forest atmosphere.” You’ll also learn to identify plants along the walk from hike leaders Dr. Ken Bridle (PLC) and Courtney Branch (Miracle Grounds Farm).
The outing will begin at Miracle Grounds Farm on the Crossnore Communities for Children Campus located at 1001 Reynolda Rd. Park along the fence in the grass by the Miracle Grounds Farm sign and Food Forest entrance. The group will journey out to the Stuart & Emma Thomas Memorial Trail on the Crossnore Campus. The hike is expected to be approximately 2.5 miles. The hike is mostly exposed with minimal shade cover. Please bring your own water and dress appropriately for the weather.
