Bashavia Gardens

Bashavia Gardens as continued growing their team and their impact over this past year! They have opened their nursery to the general public, expanded their public education offerings, and continue to pursue solar energy. PEA is also proud to see Bashavia's talents and expertise on display at 2nd Street Park in Downtown Winston-Salem, where they designed and installed a native plant demonstration garden in partnership with the city's sustainability department.

 
 
Piedmont Federal Bank

Inside and out, Piedmont Federal is a true sustainability leader. With a LEED certified headquarters, a leadership role aboard our Solarize the Triad Coalition, and a growing list of earth-first financial products, PEA is very proud of this partnership. Piedmont Federal offers paperless billing and a carbon-offset mortgage program and is proactively helping Solarize the Triad build its low and moderate income support fund.

 
 
 
Village Fabric Shop

Village Fabric Shop has earth and community first principles integrated into all facets of their business. As they make clear in their mission and vision, "We live in a world where textiles touch justice, poverty, the environment, and identity." In response, Village Fabric Shop provides high quality, transparently sourced, and socially responsible textiles curated for our community. They even operate a ReUse Shop in house that has helped divert thousands and thousands of pieces of usable fabric and yarn from our landfills.

 
 
 
MO'Empanadas

MO'Empanadas' zero waste practices, along with their commitments to electrification and clean energy set them apart from other food trucks in our region. From compostable tableware and vegan food offerings to their electrification advocacy that is helping mobile food businesses ditch noisy and costly gas-powered generators, there are so many reasons to love MO'Empanadas. They even powered their operations at our 2024 Piedmont Earth Day Fair with the sun!
