Join Jeremy Reiskind with Gateway Nature Preserve for this guided walk. Learn about local geology, biology & history. During the walk around the Gateway Nature Preserve, we will see how the creek flows and the major features of a meandering stream. We will see what lives in and near the creek and what the river deposits can tell us about the underlying bedrock as well as more recent human activities. We will consider how Salem Creek served as a source of power for processing grain in the nineteenth century.
All ages welcome, though children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult.
