Join this group hike sponsored and lead by Piedmont Land Conservancy. The guided hike will begin at the parking area at Wits End Rd in Thurmond, NC. Parking is available at the trailhead. More parking directions will be sent to your email after sign up.
The group will hike from the northern trailhead to the summit and back with a possible detour to an old still. The hike will be approximately 3.5 miles and about 400ft of elevation gain. The hike will take between 2.5 to 3 hours. The trail is shaded and features Elkin Creek, beautiful flora and fauna, and glimpses of the surounding countryside from the summit through the trees. This trail is considered moderate to difficult.
The outing is open to the public but is limited to 30 people.
