Listening Session

August 22, 2024 - 5:30pm
Lot 63 | 614 S Main St, Winston-Salem, NC 27101

Listening Sessions are small group conversations that help us surface problems in our community and leaders with the capacity and motivation to address them. Come prepared to discuss the most pressing issues in your daily life.
At a listening session you will:

  • Build solidarity as you hear your neighbors’ stories.
  • Identify local problems impacting you and your neighbors that can be researched and acted upon.
  • Prioritize what action to take.

Additional context:

PEA is a member of Forsyth IAF. The entire Forsyth IAF coalition is hosting listening sessions throughout the summer of 2024. The goal is to hear from as many citizens as possible what their daily pressures are and what tangible action can be taken for change.
The Forsyth IAF coalition will review the results of the listening sessions during a Voting Assembly in October.  The coalition will share the themes that emerged most frequently during the sessions, share testimonies and power analysis on these themes, and then take a transparent vote to prioritize three broad problem areas to address through our initial collective Issues Agenda.
