ONLINE Public Hearing on Proposed Log Fumigation Rule & Methyl Bromide AAL

May 4, 2020 - 6:00pm
Online via WebEx

Join Sierra Club to comment on a proposed air quality rule change, which has been extended to 5 p.m. on May 8.

In 2019, the N.C. Division of Air Quality (DAQ) began the process of regulating methyl bromide as a toxic air pollutant due to the increase in businesses interested in using methyl bromide for log fumigation in North Carolina. This resulted in an initial public comment period and two public hearings to receive public input on an Acceptable Ambient Level (AAL) in North Carolina. The Environmental Management Commission (EMC) is now taking additional public comments on proposed AAL values and averaging times.

To speak at this online meeting, please register by noon on May 4 at this link.

Participants can join the meeting starting at 5:45 P.M.
