Let nature inspire the artist in you
Studies show that learning about nature and connecting with the natural environment supports happiness and health, reduces stress, enhances concentration, and boosts learning for people of all ages. And, nature is also an excellent source of inspiration and beauty for an artist.
Make a piece of artwork inspired by nature: a drawing, painting, poem, sculpture, dance, or song
Need some inspiration? Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Find a great place to sit outside. What do you see, smell, hear, feel? How can you express that with artwork?
- Collect nature items like sticks, leaves, stones, flowers, and dirt. How can you combine them with paint or glue to make something beautiful?
- Close your eyes and imagine your favorite nature spots - parks or rivers, your backyard, or somewhere far away. Now, make art inspired by what you saw.
- Use your computer or tablet to explore natural wonders and let that inspire your art.
Don't forget to send us a photo of your artwork. Make sure to tag @peancorg and #PEAYoungLeaders to be entered into the weekly Young Eco Leaders Raffle.
