Meet the Snakes - Gateway Nature Preserve

September 16, 2017 -
10:00am to 11:30am
Gateway Story Circle, on Salem Creek Greenway. Follow signs from Washington Park parking lot, 1490 S. Broad Street.

Have you ever wondered what a snake feels like? Is it slimy? Slithery? Squiggly? Find out with Greg McGrath, amateur herpetologist and a member of the North Carolina Herpetological Society (NCHS). Greg is going to show the tame corn snakes he has raised. He will describe their habits and life cycle and allow you to handle the snakes. He’ll also talk about snakes seen at the Gateway Nature Preserve and why they are important for the local ecosystem. This event is free and open to the public.
