Join Piedmont Fibershed for a workshop exploring a variety of techniques for embellishing, renewing, or mending a garment including ways to harvest fabric.
Each student will leave class with a few new techniques under their belt for reinventing existing garments and creating new ones using rescued textile material. Students are encouraged to bring any clothing that they would like to mend, reinvent, or recycle into something new. The goal of the workshop is to re-invent clothing/fabric into something fun and usable that diverts textiles from the waste stream rather than purchasing new material.
We will also have a clothing swap available to participants – feel free to bring donations and take some new-to-you items home with you!
